Description
Silicone iris implants were originally developed for non-cosmetic purposes, but have since been promoted for the alteration of iris color. These devices are associated with sight-threatening sequelae that require surgical removal to reduce long-term intraocular damage. We present the surgical removal of an iris implant in a young patient with uncontrolled inflammation and early cataract formation.
